JAB CLASSIC OFFICIAL RULES

The JAB Classic will primarily follow NCAA rules with the following modifications:

Game Structure

Games consist of four (4) 10-minute quarters

Each team receives three (3) 30-second timeouts and one (1) 60-second timeout | A maximum of two (2) 30-second timeouts may be carried into the second half

Media timeouts occur at the first dead ball at or below the 5:00 mark of each quarter and at the end of the first and third quarters | The first team-requested timeout of the second half functions as a full-length media timeout

One (1) minute between quarters | Fifteen (15) minute halftime.

Defensive 3 Seconds / No Zone Defense: Defensive three-second violations result in one (1) technical free throw | Play resumes at the point of interruption | Zone defenses are not permitted

PERSONAL FOULS

Players foul out upon committing their sixth (6th) personal foul

Overtime

Each overtime period is five (5) minutes | Each team receives one (1) additional 30-second timeout

Bonus

Teams enter the bonus on the fifth (5th) defensive team foul of each quarter | All subsequent defensive fouls result in two (2) free throws

Basket Interference

Following FIBA rules, players may legally touch the basketball once it has made contact with the rim

Coach's Challenge

1.) Each team receives one (1) challenge per game

2.) Coaches may challenge only a called personal foul on their own team, a called out-of-bounds violation, or a called goaltending/basket interference violation

3.) Non-calls are not reviewable

4.) A legal timeout must be available to initiate a challenge. Attempting a challenge without a timeout results in a technical foul

5.) If successful, the timeout is retained and the team receives one (1) additional challenge

6.) No team may receive more than two (2) challenges during a game
