JAB CLASSIC OFFICIAL RULES

The JAB Classic will primarily follow NCAA rules with the following modifications:

JAB Classic Rules at a Glance

Game Format

  • Four 10-minute quarters

  • 5-minute overtime periods

  • 15-minute halftime

  • 1-minute breaks between quarters

Gameplay Rules

  • NCAA rules with select JAB Classic modifications

  • No zone defense

  • Defensive three-second violations result in one technical free throw

  • FIBA basket interference rule applies (players may touch the ball after it contacts the rim)

Fouls & Free Throws

  • Players foul out after six personal fouls

  • Teams enter the bonus on the fifth defensive team foul each quarter

  • All subsequent defensive fouls result in two free throws

Timeouts

  • Three 30-second timeouts

  • One 60-second timeout

  • One additional 30-second timeout in overtime

  • Coach's challenge available once per game (successful challenges earn one additional challenge)
